What’s a “thon”?
A “thon” is an active fundraiser that relies on sponsorship. Donations are collected based on participation or based on, for example, the number of books read for a read-a-thon. Common types of “thon’s” are: bike-a-thon, walk-a-thon, jog-a-thon, read-a-thon and swim-a-thon. Top
Why a Digital Dance-a-Thon® and not one of the more common “thons”?
Kids love Dance Dance Revolution (DDR)! This is one exercise they will bring into the home and continue to use for years to come. Many children spend hours indoors while parents are working and can’t supervise outdoor play. DDR allows kids to exercise anytime and anywhere. Exposing kids to DDR is a gift that will last a lifetime.
Students are excited about DDR. This is one fundraiser they will be extremely excited about. Besides, what student wouldn’t want to see the Principal do DDR? Top
Why a “thon” instead of product sales
Product sales have decreased in popularity as prices increase and value decreases. Frankly, your supporters prefer donating money knowing the group keeps most of that money as opposed to receiving very little for their money when buying products. Most products in catalogs are sold at 3 to 4 times their value. Top
Is Dance Dance Revolution really exercise?
Yes, and the best kind. It’s the kind of exercise kids will get addicted to. The State of West Virginia tested DDR to evaluate its overall impact on students’ health. The test was so successful that they mandated it for every school. More info Top
How expensive is the home version/Where can I buy DDR?
A home dance pad and DDR game averages only $60. It is compatible with either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 2. Nintendo Wii version coming Fall of 2007. DDR is available at Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and similar stores. Top
Do we have to offer prizes?
Prizes are not required but they will increase your profits. Our prizes are quality items and fairly priced. Don’t consider prizes as an expense but as an investment that will pay a great return every time. Top
